a mathematics education ...

what is education? i think it is to let them recognize what they are. providing them with many subjects, we bring out their ability hiden inside them. this process should be called "self-realization". and any action to present their realized status should be called "self-representation". the pairing of self-realization and self-representation will lead us to a good planning of eduation.

in particular, the ability to be brought out in the class of mathematics is one to understand structures. so i use the keyword "understanding structures" to express my thought on mathematics education. my opinion and action on mathematics education, softwares introduced in my homepage and everything else come from this notion.

how will the notions of self-realizetion, self-representation and understanding structures change mathematics education? as far as we continue to discuss, as usual, only what items should be chosen or not, we cannot decrease the number of students hating mathematics...
